Michael is the founder of Strategic Specialists Group with a background in sales, advertising, and financial markets. Initially working with Merrill Lynch as a commodities trader on the London Stock Exchange, before moving into various roles in Australia.

In Australia, Michael’s first role was as one of the youngest General Managers of a record label before becoming a partner in the largest independent agency in New Zealand, growing the business 300% in 3-years. After this, he worked on significant brands including the iconic World Vision Child Sponsorship, Canon Business, and Suncorp, amongst others.

An entrepreneur at heart, Michael is the founder of several businesses and successful SMB owner, including Strategic Specialists Group. He brings unbridled energy and strategic vision to grow business and is a passionate advocate of rigour and discipline in an organisation’s sales function to ignite growth potential.


Michael's experience with SMBs

Michael founded Strategic Specialists Group as a different kind of strategic consultancy. Offering access to tier one specialist expertise, Strategic Specialists Group works with SMBs to achieve resilience, build sustainable growth, manage risk, and enable business owners to move forward with confidence through succession planning or towards a successful business exit. Strategic Specialists Group has delivered service to over 250 SMBs through supply of CFO Specialists, Marketing Specialists, Sales Specialists, Technology Specialists, and People Specialists.

Leading the business, Michael connects with owners of small-to-medium-businesses daily, discussing barriers preventing business growth and how obstacles can be overcome. Having founded and managed several businesses, Michael listens to the frustrations expressed by SMB owners and understands how a specialist can unlock the growth dreamed of when the business was started.  Working from high-level strategy, to the hands-on requirement of taking sales calls, to overseeing 100 client relationships and running proprietary Discovery Roadmap Sales and Marketing workshops for clients. Most of all, Michael understands complications of running a successful business and the value specialist expertise can provide to achieve business growth potential.
