Peter has extensive entrepreneurial, management and consulting experience in a wide range of industries across many countries, particularly in the Asia Pacific region. This includes strategy, organisational and operational work in the financial services, airline, manufacturing, building, oil industry, pharmaceutical, public service and IT sectors.

Having served as C level executive, company director, senior consultant, venture advisor and investor in Australia and the USA he is experienced in quickly identifying core business issues and developing creative solutions to problems. A strong capacity to grasp new ideas, coupled with an ability to work independently as well as part of a team, has enabled him to generate high value outcomes in a range of businesses. 

As co-founder and joint managing director of VC Mentors, an Australian and US venture investment advisory firm, he helped grow the portfolio value of the firm from 0 to $100m in four years. He was directly engaged in negotiation of commercial, legal and investment agreements in Australia, the USA and Europe.

With The Boston Consulting Group, he focused on the design of innovative strategies and their effective implementation to grow shareholder value for many companies across a wide range of sectors in Australia, New Zealand and SE Asia.


Peter's experience with SMBs

Peter is an Executive Director of Strategic Specialists Group, based in Sydney. He has extensive experience in growth company development, having founded, co-founded and assisted in new ventures across the technology, ecommerce, education and media sectors.

For over 20 years he has focused on assisting founders to develop and execute financial strategies, accessing growth capital and enabling mid-market companies to secure strategic capital from private and public markets, as well as undertaking M&A transactions for a range of companies in different markets.

These transactions have been cross-border, capital raising, sales and mergers, ranging from seed capital through to Series C and IPO. Central to his engagements is getting to understand the goals of founders and ensuring that the strategy is aligned to best assist delivery on those goals.
