About

Charles has over 20 years’ experience in Australia and internationally in fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) corporations. Expertise has been gained through senior executive roles and as country representative in countries such as USA, China, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Tahiti, Samoa, New Caledonia, and the Pacific Islands. He has a successful track history leading large teams to deliver breakthrough change management, business integration and best practice customer relations. His experience is across multiple channels, including grocery, route, P&C, export and commercial, and as a key member of senior leadership teams, including Board experience. A key achievement in his career was to turnaround a company in the FMCG sector from negative $8M EBITDA FY08 to positive $15M EBITDA FY17, delivered from an EBITDA CAGAR of 20% 2011-2016. Charles has specialised in the Food and Agribusiness Growth Sector for most of his career.

Charles is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AIDC) and served on the board of Capitol Chilled Foods as a Non-Executive Director.

Charles's experience with SMBs

Charles works with SMBs providing consulting services as a strategic business specialist, strategic marketing specialist, and strategic sales specialist. Working with SMBs in the current economic environment, with complex uncertainty, Charles has noted that most businesses are struggling for top line growth against increased competition where there their traditional marketing efforts are becoming less effective. Leveraging expertise from highly competitive industry sectors, Charles guides business owners through an understanding of competing on price may provide quick solutions versus understanding the value the business can bring to their marketplace, and customers. He has found many small business sales teams focus on short-term goals and lose sight of how to create value for the longer-term. Combined with a challenge where marketing may be poorly understood or poorly executed to result is a waste of resources and tactics not driving strategy. Charles brings to SMBs a depth and breadth of experience to design strategy and align resources, operation, and marketing with strategy to deliver effective results.
